Why does my older cat urinate out of the box?

Posted on 2012-01-22 23:14:00

This was once of today's questions from Jill in Hollywood.  Jill's cat is 18 years old, so my biggest concern is kidney failure (seems to be the number 1 reason very old cats deteriorate).  These cats tend to drink more, and consequently urinate more.  Other possibilities could be a bladder infection, diabetes mellitus, or a behavioral problem.  I suggested she have her cat checked out to first rule out the medical problems (kidney disease, urinary tract infection, or diabetes) before dealing with potential behavior issues.  We'll keep you posted!!!

My KABC Talk Radio Show

Posted on 2012-01-22 23:06:55

Had my third show today in my new 1 hour format (noon to 1 every Sunday), and it was a great show.  Of course we were competing with the AFC Playoff game, but we held our own.  It's great working with Paul Joseph once again who used to produce Rick Dees on KIIS-FM, and I was on every Wednesday morning.  He's a real pro, and helps me keep the show moving smoothly.  He and I are working on getting my show in front of a national audience!!  That would be great!

Stay Tuned! I'd love to hear from you, so listen in on Sundays, and call me at 1-800-222-5222.

Thanks,

Dr. Jeff
